Washington, D.C. – Senator Ron Johnson (WI) made the following statement today regarding the announcement of Senator Jim DeMint’s (SC) resignation:
“I have always had tremendous respect for Senator Jim DeMint. Serving with him for the last two years has only increased that level of respect. I am grateful to have the privilege of calling him both a colleague and a friend.
“Senator DeMint's conservative leadership in the United States Senate will be missed, but his influence and impact on the conservative movement will only grow in his new position as head of The Heritage Foundation. I will look forward to working with him in his new role to return America to a land of unlimited opportunity by restoring the principles of individual freedom and limited government.”
