Johnson to Attend Weekend Dairy Breakfasts

Senator Johnson will join Wisconsinites from around the state on Saturday at dairy breakfasts in La Crosse, Vernon and Columbia counties. Every year these dairy breakfasts give Wisconsinites an opportunity to enjoy good food and fun amid the rich farmland that has been a key to Wisconsin’s culture and prosperity for more than 150 years.

Ron in Washington

Ron met with the Lynch family during their visit to Washington this week to advocate for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin's Special Needs Program - a program that specializes in providing care for children with complex medical cases. Read more on their visit to Washington here.

Ron had fun meeting with students visiting from John Long Middle School in Grafton.

During this week's Wisconsin Wednesday, Ron talked with National History Day award winner Madison Twitchell of Holmen.

Cosponsors Border Jobs for Veterans Act

U.S. Sens. Ron Johnson, Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday introduced the bipartisan Border Jobs for Veterans Act. The bill would require the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to cooperate to recruit and expedite the hiring of outgoing U.S. military service members for currently open positions as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at U.S. ports of entry. Introduces Bill to Improve Criminal Justice System in D.C.

Ron Johnson, who chairs the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and the committee's ranking member, Tom Carper (D-Del.) on Thursday introduced legislation to authorize the Washington, D.C. Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency to develop and operate incentive programs to help improve outcomes for sentenced offenders who are being reintegrated into society in the nation's capital city. Introduces Wireless Innovation Act

Sen. Ron Johnson, a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation and the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, joined with subcommittee chairman Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and fellow members Marco Rubio (R-Fla), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) to introduce the Wireless Innovation Act of 2015, a bill to reallocate spectrum used by the federal government for commercial wireless services, ensure greater transparency and accountability of the federal government’s spectrum use, and promote wireless innovation and deployment. Lack of Information, Procedural Hurdles Hamper Excess Property Disposal

Chairman Ron Johnson and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) held a hearing Tuesday on the federal government’s mismanagement of property that it owns and leases. “It seems like there’s two basic problems,” Johnson said: A lack of information and unnecessary hurdles making it difficult for agencies to dispose of properties. “Let’s agree on some pretty simple solutions,” Johnson said. Johnson, Committee Discuss National Strategic Agenda

Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) on Wednesday discussed a national strategic agenda set out by No Labels, a bipartisan organization. 

“We have to lay out the reality of the situation,” Johnson said in lauding the group’s efforts. “We have to have the courage to tell people the truth.” Read more here.
