Joseph Project Classes 28 and 29

This week, due to increased demand, the Joseph Project for the first time held a morning and evening class in Milwaukee. The program lead by Pastor Jerome Smith at Greater Praise Church of God in Christ, seeks to connect people with jobs. Sen. Johnson's office provides support with classes on soft skills training to get participants ready for interviews. So far, 152 people are working in good paying jobs thanks to the Joseph Project. That success caught the attention of the White House, which invited Pastor Smith to attend this week's roundtable at Waukesha County Technical College.

The President in Wisconsin

President Trump spent this Tuesday in Wisconsin with a focus on jobs as part of his Executive Order on Apprenticeship and Workforce of Tomorrow Initiatives. Here's an excerpt from his speech at WCTC. The dignity of work is something we've seen in action at The Joseph Project:

We're here today to talk about the dignity of work and the greatness of the American worker -- and also loving the work you do.I just toured the classrooms and I must say they arent your normal lecture halls, but in a certain way, theyre far more beautiful. You learn incredible skills like welding, automotive repair, and machine tool operations. And I looked at the machines and I'll tell you, what they have is incredible. And the knowledge to operate them is very, very, very amazing.

This week, Sen. Johnson met with folks in Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Outagamie, Sheboygan and Winnebago counties. Have a great weekend!
