Tax Reform
Senator Johnson is committed to reforming the tax code to boost economic growth and job creation and is working with the White House and his Senate colleagues to make sure that happens. He raised concerns this week about the way the bill treats pass through businesses, which account for 96 percent of all U.S. businesses and are many leading job creators in Wisconsin. This isn't the end of the discussion on tax reform, but an important step to developing a better bill. Watch the video below to hear more from Senator Johnson.

Northen Wisconsin Visits
Senator Johnson made several stops in northern Wisconsin last week, visiting Shawano, Wausau and Rhinelander. Students in Shawano asked questions about term limits, tax reform and the rising cost of college tuition. Business leaders in Rhinelander discussed how to solve problems facing the American economy and how to bring prosperity to people across the state.

Honoring the Finest Among Us
On Veterans Day, Senator Johnson presented 93 year-old Leonard Erickson with medals he earned during World War II. The medals included a Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, World War II Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp. After presenting the medals, Senator Johnson attended the unvieling of the Honor Wall at Oshkosh West High School to honor all Oshkosh West graduates who have served in the armed forces.

200th Joseph Project Graduate
This week marked a big milestone for The Joseph Project as the 200th graduate of the program starting work. Marcus Robinson was hired by Nemak in Sheboygan and gets to his new job with transportation provided by The Joseph Project. The van makes three round trips a day to Sheboygan County transporting workers from Milwaukee to their jobs.

On the Hill
Senator Johnson's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee this week advanced the nomintation of Kirstjen Nielsen to be the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The full Senate must now vote to confirm Ms. Nielsen's nomination.
In addition, the Senate unanimously approved the National Defense Authorization Act, important legislation to support the men and women of our armed forces. The bill calls for three littoral combat ships, which are built in Marinette for the Navy. In addition, Sen. Johnson secured a number of important provisions in the bill, including language allowing the Coast Guard to interdict more drug traffickers and provisions to improve the transparency and accountability of the Department of Defense's financial audit.
