Johnson Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Senator Ron Johnson made the following statement on the Senate vote on an amendment to repeal the 2010 Health Care Law:

“I’m glad that we had the opportunity to vote on this legislation, to be on record as to which Senators support the implementation of Obamacare and which Senators want to repeal the law and replace it with commonsense market-based reforms that work. Obamacare is the single greatest threat to our freedom in my lifetime. It is designed to be a government takeover of health care, which will result in rationing, lower the quality of care, and severely limit medical innovation. It must be repealed.”

By a margin of 51-47, the Senate voted against the McConnell amendment, which would have repealed Obamacare. The amendment was offered to S. 223, the FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act.
