Sen. Johnson to Donate Paychecks to The Joseph Project Amid Government Shutdown
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced that he will be donating his paychecks to The Joseph Project for the duration of the federal government shutdown. The Joseph Project, a faith-based jobs initiative, provides a week-long job preparation training program that links participants with Wisconsin employers.
“Since the U.S. Constitution requires that I receive pay, even during a shutdown, I’ll be donating my paychecks to The Joseph Project. Every day the shutdown continues, the check gets a little bigger – compliments of Chuck Schumer,” Sen. Johnson said.
