Opportunities for High School Students
U.S. Senate Page Program
There are only thirty page positions for each of the four sessions offered throughout the year and each page must be sponsored by a U.S. Senator. Service Academy
American citizens at least 17 years old and not yet 23 years old on July 1 of the year you enter an academy (25 years old for United States Merchant Marine Academy) are eligible to be appointed to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, or U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. U.S. Senate Youth Program
The U.S. Senate Youth Program was established in 1962 and designed for high school students to increase young Americans’ understanding of the interrelationships of the three branches of government.
The program is an intensive week-long educational experience and scholarship sponsored by the United States Senate for outstanding high school juniors and seniors, who may qualify to apply through leadership positions they currently hold per the USSYP official criteria for the current academic year. All student leadership positions are subject to the judgement and verification of the state selection administrators. For more information, click on U.S. SenateYouth Program.
Opportunities for College Students
Internships
Internship opportunities in Senator Johnson’s office are available in all 4 locations: Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Madison and Washington, DC. Spring internships run from early January to May, the summer internships run from May to August, and the fall internships run from September to December.

The Federal Pell Grant program is the single largest source of federal grant aid supporting postsecondary education students. Pell Grants are need-based aid that is intended to be the foundation for all need-based federal student aid awarded to undergraduates.

The U.S. Department of Education is committed to ensuring all students have access to meaningful learning that is free of divisive ideologies and indoctrination and set up a website to report any DEI programs or discriminatory conduct going on in schools. U.S. Senate Stars of Valor Fellowships Program
Senator Johnson’s office is looking to fill a position in our Milwaukee office through the United States Senate Stars of Valor Fellowships Program. If you are a detail-oriented wounded or disabled veteran, active-duty military spouse, or Gold Star family member and would like to continue to serve in a new capacity, please consider applying for the position. This two-year paid fellowship opportunity is located in Senator Johnson’s Milwaukee, WI office. Typical duties including answering phone calls, working as a constituent services representative, helping constituents resolve issues with Federal agencies, and serving as liaison to local Veterans Service Organizations. This is not a remote position.
